There comes a point where we need to stop just pulling people out of the river.
We need to go upstream and find out why they’re falling in.

EDUCATORS FIRST!!

It is not so possible for a student to have a good day, when the teacher is having a bad one.

Universities need to be more human. Especially if we are to fully capitalise on the potential that AI offers through it being harnessed using methods that are curious, critical and creative.

For this to happen, teachers and staff have to lead the way through the nurture of social and emotional skills, empathy and kindness, that then create a solid foundation of positive mental health and wellbeing.

Where teaching staff are enabled to transform and become agents of change, they then also confidently help steer students on the journey towards finding their own meaningful contribution in life. Whether that be directed to research, back into teaching, or as changemakers in the wider world.

Caring on Campus is about transforming education systems to meet our higher purpose, through changes in culture and language. It is to bring us back to our human-ness and therefore to our happiest and most productive.

THE FACTS ARE OUT THERE!

In so doing, it works within the framework of the University Mental Health Charter, now being strongly pushed by UK government, and also facilitates a university’s Impact Rankings on the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
